Executive Presbytery approves Church Multiplication Network
On June 3, Assemblies of God Executive Presbytery voted to launch new Church Multiplication Network, a service organization that will resource, catalyze and facilitate vigorous church planting across America. CMN to host free Creative Funding Forum
On July 17-18, Assemblies of God Church Multiplication Network, North Texas District Resource Center and Northwood Assembly in Houston, Texas, will host first ever Creative Funding Forum at Grand Hyatt DFW International Airport. Forum is free, but is limited to first 100 registrants. Creative Funding Forum has been designed as an opportunity for attendees to discuss creative and innovative ways to fund their visions for ministry. Ministry leaders will share creative, "out of the box" methods they have used to raise funds. The Effects of Counting Conversations before Conversions
Before Gateway Fellowship Church ever held an official service in Helotes, Texas, Pastor John Van Pay and church plant's launch team committed to counting conversations before conversions. Church Planting director Steve Pike challenged team to build a relational network of 1,200 people. By official launch service, February 10, team had connected to 1,310 people. Church gets MX9 funds to expand outreach
Fledgling Denton, Texas, congregation among first churches to receive funds through new AG Church Multiplication Network. Lifeline Church, pastored by Jerry Reagan, will use money for advertising, special events and equipment updates. AG Church Multiplication Network provides matching funds for church planting to encourage investments in new churches. Initiative includes MX9, which seeks to plant or commit to plant 1,000 new churches in U.S. by 2009.

BIG DREAMS IN SMALL TOWNS
Church planting is taking root in rural America. When The Waters Church in Sartell, Minnesota, held its grand opening in September, it became first Assemblies of God church in town of 14,000. More than 500 people attended first service. Steve Pike, national director of Church Planting and Development for Assemblies of God, says new churches like The Waters Church are desperately needed in many rural areas. A recent survey conducted by his office revealed more than 15,000 American communities with 5,000 or fewer inhabitants do not have an AG church.

Counting conversations before conversions
Under leadership of John Van Pay, dedicated launch team has spent months in prayer and preparation for upcoming launch of Gateway Fellowship Church (AG), Helotes, Texas. Relationships are already central to Gateway Fellowship's ministry. Early in planning stages, Steve Pike, director of Church Planting, challenged team to build a relational network of 1,200 people. Currently, launch team has established connections with 798 individuals in Helotes through outreach and everyday interactions. First MX9 church plant already making an impact
